The unique and pleasing reproduction method of this so-called "autoglyph" method results in a sharp, near crystal clear image, meaning you can read most of the text seen in any sign on a building, street, advertisement, etc.Period oblong 1/4 leather binding, cloth boards, ornate gilt title to front board. Binding worn, shaken and now only in Fair to Good condition. Spine & corner leather heavily dried, chipped and worn; inner hinges cracked rendering boards somewhat loose. Overall sound and despite any flaws, still a very scarce 19th century pictorial souvenir book well worthy of ownership for any collection and/ or display.
